Article of the month: Why should my child see a dentist?

To make sure he or she has no cavities, because their dental hygiene isn’t optimal,  to make sure their teeth are aligned, to have the opinion of a health professional, to teach my child to be responsible with regards to their oral health, and last but not least, to prevent problems! Because a mouth that left without care can accumulate enough problems to create tooth aches and problems with chewing! Eating is a fundamental need, and a healthy mouth allows us to have proper nutrition.

Have I convinced you? You prodentistry-for-childrenbably already were! But she is a chiropractor, why is she talking to me about the dentist, you ask?

Let’s do this little exercise and you will understand: hy should my child see a chiropractor?

To make sure there are no imbalances in their spine, because their spinal hygiene (posture) isn’t optimal, to make sure their vertebrae are aligned, to teach my child to be responsible with regards to their spinal health, and last but not least, to prevent problems! Because a spine that is left without care can accumulate enough problems to create aches and pains and functional problems! Moving is a fundamental need, and a healthy spine allows us to be active and keep our body healthy.

So you see, your child’s spinal health is as important as their oral health. Do not wait until your child has a mouthful of cavities before seeing your dentist! Do not wait until your child complains of pain to see your chiropractor either!

I see more and more parents who bring their children to see their chiropractor and I strongly encourage you to do the same! Their reasons are many and they are all valid : a visible postural problem, a difficult labour, a problem with breast feeding, late motor skill development, recurrent infections, a growth spurt, intense athletic training, falls, pains, or better yet, as PREVENTION and part of regular visits!53848

To emphasize the importance of vertebral health in our children, we invite to participate in the Back to School Month..Schedule an appointment at the clinic with your child and bring their back pack in for a verification!
